A nice wide gravelled 7 mile out & back walking running hiking horseback riding trail with good parking starts out through a residential area at the edge of town and then along the top a wooded gorge.
Love this place..... shaded, goes along a river, farmlands and even a train museum. You can do 30 miles round trip. Downfall: Its pretty popular though so you'll be dodging walkers, bikers and even a horse or two.
Love this trail for biking almost every week. I go from High Bridge to the Morris County line and back in about 1.5 hours riding time. Very beautiful area, no cars to deal with.
It is a fine place to park if you are going on the Columbia Trail. It is on the western end of the trail. Very close to the town of High Bridge, I recommend riding down the hill to town and eating at Circa restaurant.
Excellent trail and plenty of parking in High Bridge. Many beautiful views for great pictures! Just be sure to watch out for wet spots on the trail, pedestrians, and road crossings. Plenty of shade and quiet!
